XP offers a new technology called ClearType, which allows you to give greater definition to the characters and images displayed on laptops and LCD screens in general. Meanwhile, we see c

Right-click on the desktop and select: Properties - Appearance and click on Effects.
Under the heading Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts, set ClearType. Giving Ok and Ok again

If your monitor is crystal effects are visible immediately and you will notice a significant improvement in terms of sharpness. If your monitor is traditional time of worry not bad motion blur you saw, but you go on this address.

Will open a page in Explorer that will install an ActiveX control that will help in the following steps.

On the first page be sure to put the check mark next to Turn on ClearType and

Click on the link below Step 2: T une ClearType Settings.
In the new page you will find six different forms of regulation. Valutatele according to the sharpness and to your taste and click with the mouse to select it.

Click on the Apply button in the lower right.

In the third step we will see some examples of different fonts and formatting. And the procedure is complete. If we are not completely satisfied with the choice and what we see we can go back to Step 2 and groped another.

Were not for Microsoft we would have ended here and instead I found a program called ClearTweak for the more fastidious, allowing us to make further adjustments.

If you were satisfied with the new mode (I've been) we can also apply to the XP logon screen like this:
We open and posizioniamoci the key HKEY_USERS.DEFAULTControl PanelDesktop
On the right look for the DWORD FontSmoothingType and set it to 2 (the value 1 stands for the classic anti-aliasing) as well as the string FontSmoothing.

NB: The best results are obtained with the support of 65,536 colors (24 bit) or 16.8 million colors (32 bit)
