Optimize energy savings
The energy-saving options of Windows Vista can indeed save you a lot of energy.
If the case is, however, it could significantly impair the performance of the system, due to the deactivation of the hard disk, for example.
There is an energy that provides the best performance here as a selection.
Click on "Star / Control Panel", then "System and Maintenance" and then on "Power Options".
Tick "High performance".
If not enough, always here, in the left menu click on "Create combination for saving energy."
In "Plan name" Specify a name for the energy that you are going to create, and then click "Next."
In the drop down menu "Turn off screen" and "Hibernate computer" select "Never", then click on "Create".
In the new screen you will notice that the new profile has already been selected.

The same procedure can also be reported on the Windows Xp
